Places to Go
Lagos is often described as the most architecturally pretty town on the Algarve with a very cosmopolitan atmosphere. It has fantastic beaches, great shopping and superb restaurants. You can spend hours just strolling along the narrow cobbled streets browsing the myriad of individual and interesting shops. Arts and crafts and really special “one-off” shops are in abundance here.
Or if you prefer you can stroll along the sea front promenade all the way to the new marina in which are moored some of the most amazing yachts and boats you could ever wish to see. We like to have a drink in one of the many bars and cafes which surround the marina and watch the world go by………
Not forgetting the amazing dolphin safari which leaves from the marina every day, our son (and his dad too) loved this trip.
To be honest there are so many places to go in this region you are spoilt for choice. Wether it is off to Sagres where you can visit the castle or Cape St Vincent where you feel like you are standing at the edge of the world. The views and scenery are amazing! Both of these places are within 20 minutes of our villa.
You may prefer to travel up into the Monchique mountains and experience the greenness and relative cool of the mountains. You may prefer our recommendations for water sports, our son has found lots of superb beaches to try his skills at body boarding, Closer to home, Luz is just down the road and also has a wide bay with lovely views and beach. Salema is just 5 minutes away and also is great for a change of scenery.
